Painted as a motif
The Feuerleins Oriel is a landmark of the city
One of the most famous motifs of the city is the Feuerleins Oriel in Klingengasse, very close to St. Jacob’s Church. Built around 1600, it is a picturesque sight – in the spring and summer it is additionally decorated with flower boxes. The following inscription adorns the bay:
„You find the body
the bread in this house
the bread for your soul
divides you from God’s Word“Â
The Klingengasse leads under the gallery of the west choir of St. James Church and into the Kirchgasse and straight to the Lord‘s Alley. If you turn right in front of the bay window, you go directly to the Imperial City Museum.
