Easter well
The Roder fountain is decorated for Lent

Prior to the establishment of a centralized water supply, the population was dependent on the water flow of the water fountain and the deep-water wells. The Roder well was connected to another well and got its water by the height difference from well to well.
Unlike all other wells in the City the Roder Fountain is located in a wide expansion of the Roder Lane.
It could also serve as a drinking fountain. Like the Fountain of St. John the Roder it is well calibrated and in 1716 was adapted to the needs of the city. It has a capacity ” of 21 cart-loads, with bucket 3 and 4 measures.” Every year, the Roder fountain is decorated as one of the so-called Easter fountains with colorful Easter eggs.
